It was announced in the Auckland Star newspaper on the 19th of August 1944 that he had become engaged to Nessa Eady of St. Stephens Avenue, Parnell. I believe Nessa's full name was Agnes Rosetta Eady. They were married on Saturday 2nd of December 1944 at the Congretional Church, Beresford Street. Edward's best man was Arthur Haughton-Giles, formerly of the RNZAF, and the groomsman was LAC William Gardiner who was still in the RNZAF.
