Personal Details: Elwin was the son of Mr and Mrs L.P. Sabini of Duke Street, Cambridge.At one point, either when he first left for the RNZAF or was perhaps on Final Leave for overseas service, a farewell was held at their home, with around 30 of his friends present. Mr R. Crawford, on behalf of his parents and friends, presented Elwin with a wristlet watch. A "dainty buffet supper" was had, and the "usual toasts honoured".
