Personal Details: George was the son of George Michael Clancey - a farm supplies agent of Williams Street, Cambridge, and Lydia Lavinia Clancey (mee Bray).
He became engaged to Irwina Dorothy May Kingdon in June 1933, and they were married on the 28th of November 1936. They had three daughters, Nola Esme Clancey (born 18 Jun 1937, died 17 May 2019, aged 81), Betty Doreen Clancey (born 28 Oct 1938, died 11 Oct 1995, aged 56), and Fay Ailsa Clancey (born 5 Feb 1945, died 9 Jul 2014, aged 69).
George gained his ground engineer's licence (No. 119) on the 6th of July 1935.
George and his family moved to Auckland after WWII.
Service Details: George served with No. 488 Squadron RNZAF in Singapore during 1941 and early 1942. On returning toi New Zealand he was posted to No. 488 Squadron, RNZAF, at Hood Aerodrome which was now known as RNZAF Station Masterton on the 25th of April 1942. By June 1942 this squadron was renamed No. 14 (Fighter) Squadron, RNZAF.
Died: 20th of September 1982, aged 72, in Auckland.
