Personal Details: John was the son of Mrs. W. Wilson of 33 Princes Street, Cambridge, and he lived and worked there as a farmer before he joined the Army.
Service Details: John joined the New Zealand Army in 1941, and served with the 30th (Mixed) Battalion, 2NZEF.
He then changed services and enlisted in the RNZAF on the 2nd of June 1943, as an Aircrafthand (General Duties). He served in the Pacific and returned from the Solomon Islands in October 1945 aboard the troopship HMT Wahine.
