This lady is a bit of a mystery, in that I have been told by two different locals that she was a Cambridge girl who joined the WAAF, but there were no girls called Nina Christophers who ever joined up. Perhaps she was actually W3596 Miss GwendaBews Christophers, who enlisted as a WA2 at Northern Group Headquarters on the 1st of July 1942, as she was the only girl named Christophers to join the wartime WAAF in New Zealand.

Also according to several newspaper reports between 1937 and 1939, Nina was at that time living in Ngongotaha Road, Rotorua, and she would spend holidays with her aunt, Miss A.M. Christophers, in Bowen Street, Cambridge. However Nina's name was given o me as a girl who lived in Cambridge by a fellow WAAF who knew her, so she must have lived more permanently in Cambridge either before or after this time, before she joined the WAAF.

Can anyone add more to this mystery please?
