Personal Details:
Raymond was an apprentice mechanic with Souter & Co.'s garage in Cambridge. He was also in the Territorial Army and was in camp with them in May 1942 when his company made an application for him to be released from camp back to their employment until his Air Force training was to begin,

Service Details: Raymond joined the RNZAF on the 11th of July 1942, at RNZAF Station Rongotai, Wellington. He trained there as a Flight Mechanic at the Technical Training School.

He served in the Pacific and returned from the Solomon Islands in October 1945 aboard the troopship HMT Wahine.

 

Died: 13th of March 1996

Connection with Cambridge: When Raymond returned from the Solomon Islands in the Pacific his home town was listed on the shipping list as Cambridge, so he obviously lived in the town before and probably after his RNZAF service.
