Personal Details: The daughter of Mr and Mrs Joseph (Joe) Banks. The Banks family was a well known family in Cambridge. She was named after her grandmother, Susan Banks (nee Buckland) who passed away four months before her birth.

Susan was involved with the Waikato Hunt Club in Cambridge as a sport, along with the rest of her family.

Betty Rowe knew Susan and she remembers that Susan married a man by the name of Sherratt. They moved to just outside of Gisborne

Service Details: Susan enlisted at RNZAF Station Wigram, Christchirch, on the 1st of December 1942, with the initial rank of W.A.1.

Date of Death: 8th of July 1992

Connection with Cambridge: Susan was from Cambridge before joining the WAAF
