Date of Birth: 8th of June 1922, in Cambridge
Personal Details: The daughter of Joseph (Joe) Banks and Eleanor Mary Banks (nee Young). The Banks family was a well known family in Cambridge. She was named after her grandmother, Susan Banks (nee Buckland) who passed away four months before her birth.

She was involved with the Waikato Hunt Club in Cambridge as a sport, along with the rest of her family.

Susan married Peter Sherratt on the 14th of February 194?. They moved to Peter's remote family farm, Horoeka Station, at Tahunga, approximately 30 miles (50 kilometres) inland from Gisborne. There they had four children, Richard, Annabel (now Reynolds), Tim and Margot (now Kain).

Service Details: Susan enlisted at RNZAF Station Wigram, Christchirch, on the 1st of December 1942, with the initial rank of W.A.1.

Her nest posting was to RNZAF Station Ashburton.

Buried: Horoeka Station, Tahunga
