Personal Details: Ted was the elder son of Mr Arthur John Stewart Richardson (who was incidentally a First World War veteran and in World War Two was an officer in the Cambridge Home Guard). Ted's younger brother John Richardson was also in the RNZAF.
Ted married Heather Gladys Scott (died 1985), and they had two children, John Scott Richardson and Julia Richardson.
Service Details: Ted joined the Air Force at RNZAF Station Harewood on the 20th of June 1941, where he trained as a Flight Mechanic.
Later in his career he remustered to the aircrew role of Flight Engineer, and he was based at Whenuapai on one of the heavy transport squadrons, either No. 40 Squadron or No. 41 Squadron (or both), as a Flight Engineer in Douglas C-47 Dakotas.
Details of Death: Ted Richardson died on the 2nd of December 2000, aged 85
