Topic: Ryan Daum is a longtime member of the Wings Over New Zealand Forum community, and though currently only 19 years old, he has quite an interesting background in aviation already. He took his first flying lesson at the age of 11, was taking part in competition flying at 14 (with an instructor onboard), and went solo on his 16th birthday. In the past year he has been training at NMIT’s school at Woodbourne to also become an aircraft maintenance engineer, and he also has his own aircraft build project, a Bede BD-5.
