Episode Eight – Forum Meet 2011 Part Four
Guest: Geoff Cooper – Airline Pilot and Dakota Captain
Duration: 13 minutes, 39 seconds
Topic: This recording was made on the 14th of May 2011 at the Cambridge Club, in Cambridge at the Wings Over New Zealand Aviation Forum’s annual gathering, which this year was the Forum Meet and Veterans Day.
The last guest of the day at the 2011 Forum Meet and Veterans Day was Geoff Cooper, the chief pilot of the Douglas Dakota ZK-DAK, which had flown a plane-load of forum members and guests to the event on the day.
Geoff gives an enlightening and very interesting talk about the Douglas DC-3 and C-47 Dakota, and about operating their own example, Betsy. Note that his visual demonstration that gets a lot of laughs was of Geoff donning a series of baseball caps from various events and companies he has collected.

Note: This recording was recorded live at an event with over 90 people in the audience, and also there is unfortunately a little noise from kitchen and bar facilities nearby. It is however a record of the event for those who could not make it on the day
